Xometry Mentioned in New York Times Article on American Manufacturing

Xometry CEO Randy Altschuler recently gave a quote in an article about small American machine shops, their location decisions, and their future.

The New York Times recently published a story about the challenges small factories face in determining where to locate. The article features John Saunders of Saunders Machine Works, a friend of Xometry who moved from New York to Ohio to start a CNC machine shop. John also runs the successful YouTube machining channel NYC-CNC

The article quotes Xometry CEO Randy Altschuler describing how custom manufacturing network platforms like Xometry are helping small machine shops around the country: “Many of these companies are second- or third-generation businesses, but they’re scattered throughout the country,” he said. “There’s so much capability and capacity, but often there’s no access” to other customers outside of their immediate industry," Altschuler said.
