You’ll need a 3D CAD file to get started. If you don’t have a 3D CAD file, please send an email to: support@xometry.com, and we can refer you to firm that specializes in design services.
Unfortunately, we don’t do 3D scanning in-house, but can refer you to another firm that does. If you’re interested in this service, please send an email to: support@xometry.com
We support .stl, .step, .stp, .iges, .igs, .x_t, .x_b, .sldprt. with a max file size of 300MB.

Quotes & Pricing

If you are a registered user, our system automatically saves your quote for later. If you are unregistered, please click on the “Create Account” link at the top of the page and register with us. Your quotes will now be saved automatically.

To access saved quotes, navigate to the My Quotes page.

Our quoting system automatically defaults to the cheapest price. You can also use the drop-down filters to sort materials by price.

General Manufacturing

We offer on-demand manufacturing using a variety of 3D printing technologies and CNC machining, as well as sheet metal fabrication and urethane casting. Our services are suitable for applications such as rapid prototyping and low volume production.

3D Printing / Additive Manufacturing

The maximum build volume of a part depends on the 3D printing technology used.

Yes, we can 3D print fully dense metal parts in aluminum and stainless steel using Direct Metal Laser Sintering (DMLS). These parts have a fit and finish similar to cast parts.
Although they are not optically clear, our PolyJet 3D printed Translucent Rigid Photopolymer (VeroClear) has a frosted transparent finish which can be polished. We also offer FDM 3D printed ABSi, which has a diffused translucency in tints of natural, orange, and red (think car tail lights).
While some of our machines can achieve greater precision than others, we generally claim +/-0.005″ tolerance across all of our 3D printing technologies.
We support .stl, .step, .stp, .iges, .igs, .x_t, .x_b, .sldprt. with a max file size of 300MB.

CNC Machining

Metal Finishes

As Milled – CNC parts are left with visible tool marks, as well as potentially sharp edges and burrs. Surface finish is comparable to 125 RMS finish.
Bead Blast – The part surface is left with a smooth, matte appearance.
Custom – Anodizing, Powder Coating and other custom finishes are available upon request.


Plastic Finishes

As Milled – CNC parts are left with visible tool marks, as well as potentially sharp edges and burrs. Surface finish is comparable to 125 RMS finish.
Custom – Painted finishes are available upon request.

Note: If tapped holes are not called out in the model, then the holes will be machined to the diameters called out on the models.

Payment, Order Status, & Shipping

You can find the status of your order by navigating to the My Orders page and clicking on the Check Status button for the order in question.

Production time varies by technology. When getting a quote, you can find the “estimated ship date” after you make your selections. This is our standard expected turnaround. Whenever possible, we try to beat that timing if we can.

We approach expedited orders on a case-by-case basis. If you are looking to minimize lead time, consider PolyJet 3D or FDM 3D printing, which have the fastest turn times on average.
Yes, we offer international shipping.
Shipping is calculated at checkout based on your order and shipping method. We offer free UPS ground shipping on 3D printed orders over $50.
