Growing From a Single Machine to a 12-person Team

Owner Andrew Rencich first discovered Xometry in 2019 after purchasing a new Haas VF-2SS and looking for opportunities to grow his burgeoning machining business. A recommendation from another local manufacturer led him to apply to be a Xometry Partner. What began as a way to gain experience and build momentum ultimately became a major catalyst for the company's growth.

Since joining the network, Aerohead Manufacturing has continuously invested in new capabilities, expanded its workforce, and refined its processes. Today, the company operates 18 machines, employs approximately 12 people, and continues to plan for future expansion as demand grows.

“Xometry provided us with opportunities to develop our processes, build our reputation, and establish the foundation for the company we are today,” Rencich said.

Xometry Offers Efficiency and Opportunity

When asked what he values most about working with Xometry, Rencich points to efficiency and opportunity.

“I don't have to leave my desk to find work, and I don't have to spend countless hours quoting opportunities with only a small chance of being awarded the job,” he said. “Xometry's network of buyers is actively looking for capable manufacturing partners, and if you can consistently perform, there is a tremendous amount of opportunity available.”

Aerohead’s customers span many industries, and it has contributed to components supporting major aerospace and advanced manufacturing programs. While much of the work remains confidential, Rencich enjoys seeing projects eventually become public and knowing his team played a role in bringing them to life.

Over the years, Aerohead's commitment to quality and strong customer relationships has helped the company earn repeat business and become a trusted manufacturing partner within the Xometry network.

An Ongoing Commitment to Quality

Rencich attributes much of the company's success to a willingness to learn, adapt, and embrace feedback. Having grown alongside Xometry since the business's early stages, Aerohead developed its reputation by consistently meeting demanding customer expectations and by investing in continuous improvement. Whether it's adding new capabilities, refining processes, or training the next generation of machinists, the team remains focused on long-term growth.

“For us, investing in metrology equipment, inspection processes, and quality personnel is a continuous effort. Quality is not a destination you eventually reach — it's an ongoing commitment that must grow with the business. Expanding and improving our quality lab will always remain a priority, regardless of how large or capable we become,” Rencich said.
