Palladium-Nickel Plating Overview

Palladium-nickel is a precious metal alloy frequently used as a gold plating alternative. It can also be used along with gold plating. Xometry offers Type II Pd-NI, which means that the alloy is made up of 80% palladium and 20% nickel. This alloy is a popular one for plating/finishing due to its electrical conductivity, ductility, corrosion resistance and heat resistance.   • 0.8-3.0 microns: circuit edge card connectors
  • 0.8-1.5 microns: Lower energy electrical contacts
