Based in Streetsboro, Ohio, The Technology House (TTH) has been a leader in rapid prototyping and production manufacturing for nearly three decades. The company’s forward-thinking approach led TTH to join Xometry’s Manufacturing Partner Network, connecting the business with a consistent source of work that fuels its strategic growth. Since becoming a partner, TTH has completed thousands of jobs, generating almost $3 million in revenue from the Xometry platform to date.

On the Cutting Edge of 3D Printing
TTH got its start in 1996 with a single stereolithography (SLA) machine. In the early years, TTH focused on rapid prototyping and low-volume urethane casting. The company quickly established itself as an innovative force, consistently expanding its capabilities to meet the evolving needs of its customers.
“Going into 2008, we acquired a machine shop that had been a friendly competitor of ours because we saw the need for production, and additive at that time was not [used] in production,” said Nicki Gear, owner and head of business development at TTH.
This strategic move enabled the company to blend its prototyping expertise with traditional production methods, such as machining and injection molding. Expansion continued in 2015 with the addition of a 55,000 square-foot facility, which became TTH’s new headquarters. ”In 2015, we also became a beta site for Carbon’s 3D printing technology, which is what ultimately led to our partnership with Xometry,” Gear said.
TTH has continued to keep up with the latest technologies, adding HP Multi Jet Fusion (MJF), expanding its material offerings, and becoming a beta site for micro 3D printing. To meet the high standards required by its customers, especially those in the aerospace and medical industries, TTH is ITAR-registered and holds quality standards for ISO 9001, AS9100D, ISO 13485, and Nadcap. They are also proud to be a Women-Owned Small Business, holding their WOSB and WBE certifications.

A Partnership Built on High-Value Opportunities
TTH first connected with Xometry when it became a beta site for Carbon Digital Light Synthesis (DLS) in 2015, and the partnership officially began in 2019 after the company officially adapted this technology. This collaboration immediately expanded TTH’s industry reach and access to a wider portfolio of diversified and complex manufacturing orders.
The partnership has led to an array of projects, with the largest being within the $20,000-40,000 range, Gear said. The compounded annual growth rate for TTH’s Xometry orders since 2019 is almost 45%. The company has completed more than 4,000 Xometry jobs and has been recognized by Xometry’s Excellence in Manufacturing Awards multiple times.
Gear noted the diversity of projects that TTH receives from Xometry’s job board, which enables the company to maximize its capacity and utilize all of its equipment. No matter what the project, Gear knows the TTH team can reach out to Xometry with any questions.
“The experience of working with Xometry has always been a very positive one. It has gotten better over the years, just as both companies have evolved and we've learned how to work together. But communication has always been great with Xometry … If there is anything going on, there's always somebody we can reach out and talk to, and it feels like a partnership working through things.”
The Xometry Advantage: Data and Direction for Growth
TTH’s partnership with Xometry offers the company more than just a reliable source of work — it's a strategic resource for business development and capital investment. Xometry’s transparent performance metrics and collaborative approach help TTH identify where it's doing well and where to focus its next investments. By reinvesting in its facility and diversifying its equipment, TTH has opened up the opportunity to take on a wider array of jobs. Gear noted that Xometry is a “great sounding board” for TTH when deciding what type of equipment or capabilities to invest in.
